Shhh! Daily bargains at Nordstrom Rack

I have friends who feel so proprietary about Nordstrom Rack’s bargains on designer apparel that I could possibly lose them as friends for posting this. But, for you, I’ll put the friendship to the test.  Here’s the skinny: you can walk into Nordstrom Rack at Metro Pointe in Costa Mesa on any given day (preferably before noon) and find designer clothing for men and women, shoes, purses and more at a fraction of retail prices. There’s premium denim from William Rast, Hudson, True Religion, AG and one of the hottest jeans today, Dylan George; my favorite, Cosabella panties; even surf apparel for kids. Don’t be surprised if you see top labels such as Christian Dior, Marni, Tory Burch, Miu Miu, Lanvin, Burberry, and much more. New merchandise arrives daily.

Lumberyard’s first anniversary specials

09.28.09

October marks Lumberyard‘s first year anniversary, and if you’re big on classic American cuisine,  this downtown Laguna Beach restaurant is perfect for you. (And BTW, it has a nice saloon-style bar.) It’s brought to you by the Cary Redfearn who owned Oyster’s in Corona del Mar for many years. (He recently sold it.) Lumberyard serves affordable cheeseburgers, ribs, steaks, chicken pot pies, meatloaf, salads, sandwiches, pastas, seafood and much more.  And it’s currently big on
specials: $10 lunch specials; Monday through Friday (3:30 to 6:30 p.m.  happy hour: $6 appetizers, $6 wine, and $4 beer. Wine and dine Mondays (order $40 or more of food and select bottles of wine are just $1).
